Bad Reception After Fall

My phone recently fell out of my pocket while on a ride at an amusement park. The back is completely shattered, but everything else seems perfectly fine, except the reception. I used to get decent reception most places, but now its hard to find one bar anywhere. I was wondering if this has something to do with the broken back, because I saw there is supposed to be some connection points on there (maybe something to do with the antenna?) It would be a great easy fix if it was, but I have a feeling I'll have to do more then get a new back plate. Any ideas what the problem is?

Answer this question I have this problem too

where do I look to check the connection? Sorry I'm not very familiar with the insides of my phone and any time I searched google for the antenna I only got pages about holding it the wrong way. Thanks for the reply
