RCA RLDED5098-F-UHD doesn’t have power

TV was purchased by my girlfriend about a year ago, she told me it has never turned on. She no longer has the receipt so Walmart won’t allow her to return or exchange it.

plugged in, there are no lights and no response to trying to turn it on with the button on the TV or the remote.

Considering buying a replacement power cord to eliminate that as the issue, but any guidance would be appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi @naelliott34 ,

Have you checked that the power outlet that the TV is connected to is working OK? Try plugging in a hair dryer to make sure that it is.

Is the TV power cord plugged into a powerboard (powerstrip?) at all? If so try plugging it directly into a wall outlet and check if the TV power light comes on.

If the power cord is removable from the TV and you have an Ohmmeter you can check if the power cord is OK by testing all the wires from end to end for continuity.

Not sure if it is acceptable where you are but if the TV was purchased using a credit card or a direct debit card, check the card statements to verify the purchase date of the TV and then if the TV is less than 12 months old, contact the TV manufacturer’s customer service section in your location and explain the situation to hopefully get a manufacturer’s warranty repair. Some companies where I am accept credit card statements, back account statements etc. as proof of purchase
