iPhone 6s not powering on, but charging at 0.67A

Last day I’ve tried to charge my iPhone after it went completely black after consuming all its power. Surprisingly, it would not show any sign of charging and after several hours plugged to the wall, it would not power on, at all.

I tried to manually charge the battery and this sort of fixed the problem, making the phone power on, but when I tried to charge it via usb cable, it started to discharge rather than charging.

I checked the charging current with an Ammeter and it was showing 0.67A (note that my Samsung galaxy S9 is charging at 0.40A).

What would the problem be?

P.S. : I also tried to clean up the charging port.

You can try disconnecting the battery from the phone when the phone is on and charging, this will tell you how much current is actually going to the battery rather then used up by the phone. It’s possible that it really isn’t charging the battery at all. One of the common issues on the iPhone 6s is a chip known as tristar which can fail and will prevent the battery from charging correctly.

Done that, and the current stays the same, as you probably expected.

I will try to get a replacement for tristar chip.

Thanks mate!
