Is iPhone 5s power button flex cable interchangabe with SE?

Have an SE with a slight cracked housing on the right side of the volume down button, with a minuscule bend to the housing that runs perpendicularly the other side. Initially phone was dropped which broke the screen and left that crack to the housing. Had screen replaced with an SE screen. All was working. Over time the power button and hold stopped working. Have a spare 5s A 1533 phone, interchangeable with my SE? bonus question; is the damaged housing causing this?

The 5s and SE power button cables are not cross compatible, connector to the logic board is different. A bump in the housing is the most common reason for the home button to stop working on the 5/SE series.

if you swap the connector on the flex, then it will work as it should. but for most of the users it is not an option.
