What effect does resetting the PRAM have?
On several sites there are instructions for resetting the PRAM in the computer. However, I've not been able to find out why one would want to do this in the first place (except as a general "if you are having problems, try resetting the PRAM"), nor if there would be any potential negative consequences, such as the system failing to recognize the hard drive (ouch!) or other issues.
Is this a good question?
