Can't get iPhone 6s open

I was able to replace the battery on my own iPhone 6s using iFixIt’s kit without any difficulty. Trying now to do the same to my wife's phone, but can't get it open. Went through the hair dryer heating procedure 6 or 7 times. Still won't budge.

Is it possible to get it too hot with a hair dryer? If so, how do you measure this? I do have an infrared thermometer that I could use to determine the surface temperature.

Lots of customer comments on this step in the repair guide refer to the use of a knife edge or even razor blade to get started. I would imagine that would be more effective. The supplied spudger is far too blunt. Seems risky, though...

Answer this question I have this problem too

you need a pretty thin metal spudger to pry under it, anything plastic or too flimsy you’ll have problem with if the glue is still strong. If you can get under it at the bottom left a small bit then try pushing around the side with it just make sure you don't put the spudger too far in to avoid catching internals. or wedge a second spudger or something thin like a guitar pick or something in any gap you can make an then try pry in another spot near it. if you are going to use head then you don't need too much, just enough to soften the glue. If the glue still isn’t for budging I would try a thin Stanley knife blade (using just the tip) to try cut through the glue almost.
