Why my camera not recording images onto Media Card

Hi, I have recently purchased a secondhand Body, the Camera Works as such but it will not record the images, it stays on the image count the same.

is it the Settings, the Lens or the Compact Flash Card?

Does the camera format the Compact Flash Card?

If not replace the card.

It does format the the Card but still not recording the images. I've tried 2 other Cards, still not working.

Try updating the firmware. Something might have gotten corrupted.

Just another thought. Are the cards on Nikon's recommended CFC list?
