New Trackpad doesn't work

Hi, I bought a brand new trackpad from iFixit, installed it without too much trouble and sadly found out it barely registers any movement when I turn the machine on. It’s actually worse than the trackpad I replaced. I am trying to figure out if this is a bad part, or if there is something else that might be wrong. This computer works fine with pointing devices attached through bluetooth or USB. So, what do you think? Bad part, or something else wrong?

Did you replace the trackpad cable as well?

@danj - Yes, that is assuming it is the little flat cable that plugs into the back of the trackpad and then into the motherboard.

Please check your battery for swelling.

I replaced the battery as well, no swelling and the new battery seems to be functioning correctly...

Did you adjust the trackpad using the adjustment screw?

Yes. Tried it a number of ways. No luck. iFixit is sending a new trackpad... I'll give that a try.
