Vintage rocking horse needs minor repair

I have a 60+ year old rocking horse in good condition except for a small hole in the body. The horse is made of some kind of plastic or resin. Any ideas on what would make a good patch for the hole?

You could try to fill it in with clay or epoxy resin.
