Red light in headphone jack -- Any uncommon solutions?

My question is in the title. I have tried nearly anything I can find from this forum, including the following:

  • Using an air duster
  • Updating drivers, uninstalling and then restarting drivers.
  • Taking a toothpick/tissue paper/paper-clip/etc. and jiggling it around.
  • Plugging the headphone jack in and out.
  • Restarting
  • Turning up the volume as plugging earbuds into the headphone jack.
  • Troubleshooting

It is important to note that my iMac, although an iMac, is running Windows 10 instead of the typical Mac OS. This is not on boot-camp, my entire computer is this operation system.

I am positive the sound works, because whenever I boot my computer up, it has the boot up noise. Once the computer boots up however, the red light flashes on again and stays that way. I am wondering if this is from a driver issue. I haven’t been able to find a proper driver that fixes it though.

When I click the speakers, the output is named as following:

“Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device)”

I have no option to change this, as this is the only output available.

Any help with this is much appreciated!

My last resort is to be buying an audio dongle.

Answer this question I have this problem too
