Hey!

Sounds more like you need a new speaker.

This is relatively easy to replace, and it doesn't cost that much either.

iFixit also has some guides, as well on youtube.

But there are some tricks that might work!

  1. Restart the phone (soft reset)
  2. Press and hold the Side/Power button and either Volume buttons simultaneously for a few seconds
  3. Release both buttons when you see the Slide to Power Off prompt.
  4. Drag the slider to the right to turn your iPhone off.
  5. After 30 seconds, press and hold the Side/Power button until the Apple logo appears.
  6. Wait until your phone boots up completely then test to see if it now has sound.
  7. From the top left edge of your device, flip the Ringer switch to enable Silent mode. In this mode, the sound is off and the switch is in red/orange position. A notification briefly appears on screen when silent mode is enabled and the phone is muted.
  8. After a few seconds, flip the switch again to switch your iPhone X back to ring mode.

If the switch appears to be stuck, try to remove any case to make sure nothing blocks the switch. Reboot your iPhone afterwards and test to see if you can now hear sounds coming from your iPhone.

  1. Reset all settings on your iPhone X
  2. Tap Settings from Home.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Scroll to and tap Reset.
  5. Select the option to Reset all settings. This will reset your current settings to factory defaults or original setup.
  6. Enter your device passcode if necessary.
  7. Then tap the option to confirm settings reset.
  8. Restart your iPhone when the settings reset is finished then configure your device accordingly. When everything is set, try and see if your iPhone X now has audio or sound output.
  9. Repair options
  10. Then maybe you need a new speaker that I wrote before, or something happened to your motherboard so you have to take the phone to someone who can micro-solder motherboards.

I wish you all the best that you get your sound back again as it should!
