Error messages 5Y (Freezer) and EF (Refrigerator) come up periodically for Kenmore French door refrigerator. I already turned off power and reset twice but error messages are coming up periodically. Any solution to the problem?

@rampur The SY (instead of 5Y) EF code stands for system error with the evaporator fan. This means that there could be something going on with your evaporator fan. Since you have already tried to reset your fridge I’d suggest you take the back cover off and take a look at the fan etc. Make sure that you do not have any ice build up that prevents the fan from coming on which could generate the same error. If all that checks out your fridge may have an issue with the main board.

Thank you. I did disconnect the power and error messages disappeared. However, error messages came back after a few days and so I unplugged again and the messages disappeared. I have now done it 3 times, it has no error messages at this time.
Based on your suggestion, something is happening, so do you suggest anything further to rectify the problem?
