Battery replacement parts/guide available? History of issues.

Does anyone have experience with the Clarisonic Mia Smart device? [A woman’s sonic face cleaner.] There appears to be a history of poor battery life and worse customer service (Clarisonic search on Trustpilot.com). If anyone has replacement part list or a tear down available before ripping into this it would be appreciated.

I have a one year old SmartMia I have used no more than 3X and it does not charge. I understand there was waterproofing issue in the manufacturing stage that ultimately renders this product useless. Clarisonic will not respond to inquires regarding authorized repair dealers or taking it back for a refurbished unit. There is presently a class action suit on the west coast given Clarisonic's unwillingness to own their mistake. If you have or had a similar issue with your MiaSmart please remark here to alert others and provide potential fix/repair solution if you have identified one.

Thanks for the information. We've already had two warranty replacements now!

I did finally learn of one failure mode. The unit will go into the error mode and refuse to recharge, if the battery is allowed to run down too far, when placed on the charger. This can happen if the USB port to recharge is delivering less amperage than ultimately required. (e.g. Outlet adapter where is splits multiple USB and receptacles)

Thanks again!

My Mia Smart wont hold charge. Don’t know the reason why :(

I bought a Clarisonic Mía Smart last year on eBay just as the company was preparing to shut down. It was working fine until last week. I noticed that the device wouldn’t turn on although I fully charged it earlier in the day. The device wouldn’t turn on until I placed it in the charger. Then it would eventually turn on and sync with the app. I posted this inquiry on L’Oreal’s Twitter page.

I’ve had to switch to a Soniclear elite as a result. There is no doubt in my mind that this is why they had to shut down. I never had a problem with the device until last year. I’ve been using the Clarisonic devices for 7 years.

Much appreciated! I think I may cut-out just the lower-back panel and add a battery holder vs. hot-soldering the batteries back to the board in directly. [These units seem to have a bad history with this issue, and in our household it doesn't go into the shower, etc. so the water-tight silicone seal is not as critical.

Many thanks!

Sounds like a plan. As long as your family can continue to use it and keeps it out of the landfill, it's all a good idea.

@oldturkey03's link above is from YouTube rather than a full guide within the IFIXIT site, but I found this helpful. There is quite a history around this issue, but no solutions from the vendor when we last checked (2019). Clarisonic did replace units under warranty so I did not get the opportunity to tear it apart personally and when left charged (adequate amperage feeding the USB charger) we have not had another failure... yet.
