iFixit preformed adhesive vs. preinstalled adhesive for iPad screen

Which is better to use for iPad screen replacement adhesive? Is it better to use the adhesive already applied to the screen as shipped or use iFixit preformed adhesive?

The iFixit pre-formed looks really impressive, but if I remove the already supplied adhesive, what is the best way to get it off? While prepping the device I used 91% isopropyl alcohol but that takes forever.

Please advise.

I’m not working much on iPads these days, but by experience the adhesive already on screens is insufficient to ensure a good enough hold. On the other hand, it’s out of question to remove it for a number of reasons and therefore decided to use both and see how that works. Thus, after a few trials, I ended up routinely putting on the biadhesive on the frame without removing the one on the screen and I never regretted that. Just my 2c..

Agree. Just installed with both adhesives. It was a little trickier, but so far worked well. I have the heavy books on the unit and should be solid by morning.
