Reed Switch Location?

Does this model still have a reed switch ? Did they change it to something else ?

I’ve been trying to identify the position or make it go to sleep with 2 small magnets but haven’t managed to consistently get it to work.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

FYI: The MacBook Pro's use a Hall sensor to sense the magnetic flux.

I haven't seen any other solution used since 2008

Ah, my bad, it seems Hall sensor is what I was thinking about actually. Thanks!

Is there only one ? Or did they actually change the way those magnets work ? Using the same method that works on a MBP 2014, I can't get this one to go to sleep at all.

Just the one sensor!

Its just in front of the USB-C port on the left side keyboard side up and looking at the display. Make sure you hit the spot.

Time to visit an Apple Store to get your logic board replaced!

It reacts to the lid being closed (goes to sleep, monitors turn off), but it doesn't react at all to this magnet, maybe the magnet isn't good ?

Are you using a rare earth magnet? I don't have one of the newer mac's the check.

I'm using one of those fridge souvenirs magnets
