after charging just picture of black battery and will not turn on

Whenever charging my iPod classic I know it’s finished when there is a picture of the battery in green. This time I am momentarily see the green, but it flips to Black inand it is not operable

Options

fearlessfink  this model has issues with the battery connector breaking off the logic board. You want to check on that carefully and replace the battery while you are at it.
