I shattered my screen, and now a portion of it wont respond to touch.

I shattered the screen on my note 8 further, a day after ordering replacement glass for a relatively small fracture it already had. I have a little bit of experience fixing stuff like that and was planning to try to fix it on my own, however now the middle third of the screen is unresponsive to touch. Would replacing the glass fix this, or should i order a new AMOLED?

Answer this question I have this problem too

if you can see everything on the screen perfectly fine and it’s just the glass that is shattered and unresponsive to touches replacing the glass would probably fix it but it might be much harder than replacing the whole assembly

Hi @c0nman46

As long as you ordered a quality replacement screen, all of your issues should be resolved with a screen replacement. Damaged Samsung AMOLED screens tend to degrade worse and worse over time until they do not function at all.

I’m hoping that you ordered the screen pre-installed on a frame, otherwise this will be a VERY difficult repair.

Best of luck fixing this up!
