Toshiba 24L4200U TV will not turn on

Today, my 24” Toshiba responded to power button and/or remote by a solid green light for 10 seconds. After unplugging it for a time, I plugged it back in and now it will not respond at all. I’ve checked that there is 120v at the input, fuse has continuity, and all capacitors appear normal.

Thanks for your response - finally figured out how to include the pix I had already uploaded. Will this work?

@winstontoby if you have power going to the board then you will have to check the power output of the power board. Measure on the connector going to the main board. We would need to see your boards and the interconnect cables to help you further. Right now it does sound like a power board issue just by the not turning on part. All the other boards are still a contender

Check the voltages on connector P800 and see if all the voltages printed on the board apply.

I couldn't find P800, then realized that you're actually referring to P802 (sorry, my mistake, the last digit is in shadow. I hadn't noticed that when I uploaded it.) Counting from pin 1 (on the right, which is gnd)

Pins 3, 4, 8, 9 are all 25.9 v

Pins 10, 11, 12 are all 10.1 v

Now, here's the real kicker: just after checking these, I noticed an LED light illuminated, turned it over, and the TV appears to be functioning correctly! ?? Responded to the remote, and has active picture and audio. Any suggestions?

hopefully just a loose connection or loose wire. Ultimately if it fails again you have a pretty good idea that is is your power board that needs replacing. ;->

by

thanks much! Is it a concern that the voltages are ~2xs what is specified on the board?

by

Not at this time since it all came back up and seems to work ok. If it would be detrimental then the main board would already have failed
