Do 2017 and 2018 MacBook Pro 13" touchbar use same screen?

I have a new screen assembly for 2017 MacBook Pro 13” A1706/A1708 touch bar.

I installed onto a 2018 MacBook Pro 13” A1989 touch bar, screen works but is dim and not bright enough, does this mean 2017 screen is not compatible with 2018?

Sorry the screens are not compatible, Apple altered it in the 2018/19 models. The one you need for the 2018 models is Apple P/N 661-10357 for the Silver and 661-10037 for the Space Grey

@Habib Sentongo - Here's the parts breakdown:

A1989 - MacBookPro15,2 (2018)

A2159 - MacBookPro15,4 (2019)

Does this mean that A1989 2019 uses the same screen assembly as A1989 2018?

Thank you @dan.

So, does this mean that A1989 with touch bar uses the same screen assembly as A1989 without touch bar?

by

@Habib Sentongo Are you asking about the two USB-C port Fn models (A1708 & A2159)? Thats still a different display assembly!

@danj Are you sure about this Dan? There are many sellers on eBay listing "A1989 / A2159 (2018 2019) screen". It seems to imply they are compatible. For example:

2. https://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/18488959019...

@iphone3ghulp - You lose TrueTone! As the older screens don't offer it.

These sellers don't deal with the details that well! I hate buying from Jobbers like these folks as they don't know there stuff! They look the same so they must be! NOPE!

Stick with an outfit which focuses on mac's and have a storefront. iFixit and TheBookYard are my go to places for parts as they know there stuff and are in it for the long haul!

These Jobbers are fly by night here today gone tomorrow! And will drag their feet on getting you a replacement part or refund, or say you broke the part.
