What is the cause of my TV screen problem

A quarter of my TV screen showing a white patch and beside it the next quarter is giving the pictures a green edge. Only the two other quarters show clear pictures. What is cause of this problem ? The ribbon cable ? ,The scanning board ? Or the display panel?. The TV is a Samsung 32 LED series 4003. The model no is UA32EH4003R.

@cjmike looks like a total loss of the video signal. Could be a t-con board error as well as a source driver issue on the LCD control board which is part of your panel. Check on top of the LCD panel for a bunch of small ribbon cables that come from the driver board and are entering the panel. Put some pressure on the cable corresponding with the area that does not display an picture. See if that changes anything. If so you have a failed TAB issue. Let us know what you find out.

That has been done , maybe not very well, to get it to stage you are seeing now. if I go back and put pressure more and all over what is next

this board is actually at the bottom of the panel. could it be that the guy first opened it somehow broke it cos its loose, and the second guy that replaced the LEDs so it could show pics at all unlike before is using tape to hold it in place. he is telling me to buy a new panel , the kind of story I hate to hear !!

@oldturkey03 is the panel and the board (that's the picture board right ?) one inseparable entity or can they be changed separately?

by

that sounds like you are talking about your driver board. that is part of the panel. I would need to see it to be sure.

I'm having fears that the panel may have been swapped by the fellow first handled this TV. Have a look at it
