There are many reasons for why a laptop would become slow. Here are a few things you can try:
Sometimes malware can make a system run slowly. Run a good antivirus program; Malwarebytes offers a free version on their website.
Install all pending updates to optimize your system’s software.
Run the disk defragmenting utility to optimize your hard drive. Type defrag.exe in the Search Box at the left side on the task bar and hit Enter to launch the utility.
Uninstall any bloatware or software programs you don’t need.
Consider upgrading your hard drive to a Solid State Drive (SSD). This tends to greatly increase a system’s speed.
