iPad Air 1 home button pad missing

I have ordered a replacement home button for the iPad Air 1, but upon receiving it, i noticed the small central pad in the middle of the button is missing from the replacement part. This pad is the part that pushes on the actual switch. The first picture is the button I received and the second is the one in the ifixit page showing the pad I’m talking about. Is my button defective or Am I missing something when ordering replacement parts? I appreciate any help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

As long as the button you received can actuate a click of the home button you should be good to go. If not, try to find another seller with a higher quality part.

If not the middle of the black metal bracket that sits behind the home button can be bent inwards to get it to click sometimes.

Thanks, I have ordered the replacement button from 2 different sellers and none of them have the central pad. It turns out the button does not actuate the switch in this condition.
