Samsung Monitor with black vertical line

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this. My Samsung C24FG73 has one black vertical line on it. I’m happy to take the monitor apart and fix it but I wouldn’t know what part to replace. Any advice would be appreciated

If you have eliminated your computer and video card as a source of the problem, probably would be a good idea to open up the monitor for a visual inspection of obvious malfunctioning components (for example, bulging capacitors, burn marks, etc. Probably would help others to identify the problem by posting a screen shot of the black line.

Wow, man. It looks terrible. Have you managed to solve that issue? Hope you have. I’d be grateful if you kept us updated on your problem. My friend used to have the same issue, but I can’t remember how he solved it. I guess he just bought Dell’s monitor instead. As far as I know, he has this monitor https://productz.com/en/dell-s2419hgf/p/.... Actually, I bought the same one. I think Dell makes the best monitors on the market, so I’d highly recommend you replace your monitor with Dell’s one. Still, tastes differ. So, I’ll be waiting for your reply.

Hi @tralph ,

Sometimes this can be caused by a loose tab connection on the display panel itself. The connections are very fragile.

Sometimes it can be fixed by just pressing very gently down onto the tab so that it remakes the connection but you have to get to them first.

Here’s a link to a video (there are plenty of others) that may help.

I had a black stripe down the left hand side and it seems Windows adjusted my display settings without me touching them so that the settings on my laptop matched my monitor. Went in and changed it to “Show on two displays only” I turned my monitor off and then back on again and it was resolved

Just check for the flex cable inside the back of your monitor. You will have to open the back panel and have a look right there. probably a loose connection, or defective cable is your issue.

Similar issue, left hand side. Dotted line. Updated my graphics driver and it seemed to go away during that process
