@stevetheman LG Washer Error Code CL Fix. CL means that your washing machine's CHILD LOCK is ON. Since You did not give us a model number we have to give you the generic answer:
TO TURN OFF CL CODE ON NEWER LG FRONT LOAD WASHERS:
To TURN OFF CHILD LOCK on your LG washer, press and hold the CHILD LOCK button for 3 to 5 seconds.
The washer should now have CHILD LOCK mode DISABLED and all buttons will function properly.
NOTE: ON other newer LG front load washing machines hold the PREWASH/CHILD LOCK button for 3 to 5 seconds to turn CHILD LOCK OFF.
This method is for LG washers with inverter, direct drive, smart drum, and others.

@wendy burchardt you are absolutely right. That is also why we ask for clarification about the model numbers etc. Commonly for the LG Top Loader (and Front Loader) CL means that your washers CHILD LOCK is ON. On some models you'll find two buttons "Temp" and "Options" in the panel. To reset your CL turn the washer ON and press those two buttons together for 3 seconds. Some models have a little kids face above a lock key, in between the wash and rinse buttons, hold these for 5 seconds and it should work.

The op mentioned that this is a top loader and not a front load washer. The error code stands for Control Lock and to deactivate it press the control lock button for three seconds. It is located on the far right hand side. The bottom of four selections.

I cannot find any information online about a Swan SW158230b.
The nearest model number that I could find was for a Swan SW15840b and even then there is no online or downloadable user manual for it, which may have helped. (The Swan website shows no listing for your model)
The best that I can suggest is that you contact Swan and ask them for the information or for the user manual which should have the information how to enable/disable the Child Lock (aka Control Lock)

To activate/deactivate the CL (Control Lock) function in an LG WKEX200HBA, turn on the power and then press and hold the SOIL button for 3 seconds.
A chime will sound when the control lock has been deactivated.

For front-loading washer dryer combo “Inverter Direct Drive True Balance” LG model #WM3499H*A:
Once LG is powered ON, go to the right touch-screen panel, press and hold “Pre-wash + Delay wash” buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. This will turn OFF the CL (control lock/child lock). You’ll hear a little jingle when the function is processed. Similarly, pressing this combo again for 3-5seconds will turn back ON the CL .

if you have a newer FRONT display. press and hold (Half Load + Energy Saver) together for 3-5 seconds and it should clear the “CL” display and wash the darn dishes.

Hi, we had a similar sitch. I found the “key” for the codes inside the door area printed right on the unit. For us it meant “clean” as in time to clean. Hope it helps.

Thanks for taking the time to write Molly. I wish it was as simple as requiring a clean. Unfortunately, I've come to believe the CL stands for "Child Lock" and that is why the machine is frozen and doesn't allow for any settings to run. There's no "key" or kid's smiley face to indicate how to undo this lock and I've tried all the combinations of simultaneously pushing buttons suggested in the comments above and on the LG troubleshooting pages/video.
Still, nothing works - but I'm not surprised as the machine has been a disappointment from the beginning.

What is the model number of your washer?
For my 10kg inverter direct drive i had to hold the water level and spin buttons simultaneously for three seconds to clear it. Finally worked after trying many other suggested combinations. Unfortunately, this was not in the manual.

Press and hold the Rinse and Hot Wash button for 3 seconds.
Oml you saved me !! Thank you been standing for 2 hours
Hold and press at the same time the Start button on the panel and the button above which the CL indicator is blinking (which is this button doesnt matter). Just hold these two buttons for 3-5 seconds together and the child lock will get deactivated.

I’m going to assume that you may have it by now but this should be helpful for future readers..... our LG front loader did not have a visible child lock button labeled anywhere but was stuck on the CL code. I decided to try the latch button that the door closes on and pressed that a few times and the code disappeared.
