Bootloop after housing and screen replacement

Hey All,

Did a housing and screen replacement and now stuck in a bootloop, if i put the phone into recovery mode im able to restore the firmware successfully but then when it restarts it goes straight back to bootlooping.

ive tried disconnecting the front flex with the sensor also reseating all the flex cables but still bootloops, any suggestions as to what parts i should try reordering/replacing

thanks in advanced.

Did you transfer over all of the flexes or were they pre-installed in the replacement housing? Either way, you have a ton of variables here and you will need to isolate things one by one.

I would start by connecting the screen (just the screen, no FCAM), Lightning Port (from the original housing as it was a known-good part) and battery and then connect to an iTunes enabled computer. Does it boot properly and remain stable, if so, then add flexes one at a time until the phone fails. If not, then try another charge port or remove the screen to see if it stabilizes. Take notes along the way as this could get confusing.

This will help you determine if this is logic board related or simply a bad flex.

All the flex cables were replaced, unfortunately the original charge flex was damaged thou as it is able to complete a recovery (charges and transfers data) until it restarts i would think it would rule that out?

I would still try another charge port.

i left it forr a few days due to work commitments and came back to it sitting on the "Hello" activation screen, after activation and a standard reboot it went back to boot looping.

ill leave it for a few more days and cant see if it goes to the home screen by chance and maybe then i can use xcodes devices and simulators to check the devices console logs.

dunno if this helps any just thought id update.

charge flex may be the problem after all, will order a replacement and see how that goes

Okay found the definite cause which was the Power Button Flex Cable, disconnected it then plugged a usb cable in to turn the phone on and worked straight away.

odd one thou as all the buttons/silence switch works
