LCD not backlit after replacement

I have recently replaced a broken digitizer and lcd on a 3gs. I was short the new LCD for a few days so I installed the new digitizer with the original LCD that only had a few broken pixels on the screen. It was back-lit for a day of use then the next day the screen stopped lighting up.

After replacing the LCD with a brand new one, Cleaning the connectors, checking the logic board for debris, and running apples 3 troubleshooting steps, the screen is still not back-lit.

any other possible methods I can try to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I'd say check for any loose connections 1st. If the housing itself is causing the backlight function to stop, it could be something more internal with the LCD/digitizer.

I'd say the digitizer must be replaced as a (whole unit together -LCD and digitizer together) as it looks to be damaged based on your point that the back-light does not work or stops functioning when pressure is applied.

By the way how did you repair those brass clips that were bent? Can one find replacements?

Look forward to your reply..

Good luck
