WonderBoom sound quality issues

Hey buddy. Was hoping you could give me some advice. It might sound weird but I have a WonderBoom and the audio quality has really declined over the years.

It's so bad, that it sounds like a cheap walmart speaker. I've done everything. Did a factory reset a bunch of times and even did a hard reset by unplugging the battery itself. I went as far as to unhook the wires off one of em and solder positive to negative and negative to positive and crazy as it sounds, it literally sounds better now and I'm thinkin about doing the same thing with the other speaker.

Is this just how ue wires their speakers from the factory?? Positive to negative and negative to positive?? I know that sounds really dumb but just wanted to know how the speakers are wired from the factory…. Thanks buddy
