What kind of SSD is Flash Storage

Hi,

Anyone knows what kind of SSD are the 256, 512 and 1TB (not the fusion drives) Flash storage ?

Are standard SATA drives or are Blade PCIe drives ?

And if are Blades ones, are there any upgrade kit to add a second SATA SSD.

Chosen Solution

If you order an SSD only iMac you will be getting a blade SSD from Apple.

If you are buying a used system you should verify what the given system has. Go into System Report which you’ll find under the ‘About this Mac’ Look under Storage to see the drives, then open either SATA/SATA Express or NVMExpress.

Your system has two storage ports a SATA port which supports either a 3.5” or 2.5” drive and the PCIe/NVMe blade SSD port.
