Not turning on after screen replacement

I'm replacing a LCD on a Nintendo Switch that was working fine before I attempted the repair but had some spots on the backlight. After trying the new LCD, I was noticing that the backlight turned on for a second but then everything would shut off. I double checked my connections, pushed the LCD connector in as far as it would go but still got the same result. I decided to try the original LCD but got the same exact result as the replacement. Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm now noticing something strange. If I have only the backlight ribbon cable connected (leaving the LCD cable disconnected), the Switch turns on. But as soon as the LCD cable is connected, the Switch won't do anything. Could there be a short somehow?

Same thing happened to me currently! I know this might be late but did you ever find an answer?

I have the same issue. I replaced the lcd connector and now the console doesn't work when the lcd is plugged in... It's really a crappy situation, since the guy who owns the switch is now threatening me.

Maybe it’s a bad LCD, might try to get a replacement maybe

I could try that. But wouldn't the original still work?

Well bummer. 4 years after this original question was posted and no clear answer. Hoping this comment will bump this in the algorithm somehow so it can be answered!

I bought replacement parts for my Nintendo switch then disconnected everything then assembled it back together and tried to turn it on and when I did the screen won't show any signs of power, just stayed blank so then I charged it even for a long time and nothing changed. I looked everywhere online and looked at video tutorials and read many articles for my switch and it just don't work. Since my attempt to repair it was unsuccessful then nobody can't repair my switch. It's best to get a replacement switch and cash is limited to me for some time because I have so much things to focus on doing before getting a new one.
