Same lower case screws? 2016-2019

Hi Everyone,

I’m curious if anyone knows if the 13” TouchBar Macbook Pros 2016-2019 all use the exact same Pentalobe screws for the lower case. Specifically I want to replace a stripped screw on a 2019 model with a screw from the 2016-2017 ones. They look the same from the tear-downs, but I’m not sure, and simply want to avoid ordering the wrong screws. Any help is appreciated.

If you have a 2019 system with a messed up case screw you should just visit an Apple Store they should replace it for you for free. Don’t volunteer why the screw is buggered up.

If you can’t get to an Apple Store you could replace them using one of these sets from TheBookYard from the UK:

As the 2019 models are so new I can’t tell you if Apple altered the screw lengths. I doubt they changed things.

I would simply like to add on to this that I tried a 2016 MBP lower case screw on a 2019 MBP lower case, while comparing screws, and they do appear to be exactly the same as far as I can tell.
