Hi @monk101 ,

What do you mean by "DVD player has went out"?

Is there still power showing on the player?

Please describe the problem more fully.

If it is not reading the DVD have you tried cleaning the lens using a lens cleaner?

Is it a stock DVD player or an aftermarket install?

What is the make and model number of the DVD player if after market?

by

It came with the vehicle so it’s stock. Have all the numbers. It stopped working one day while watching it. Has power and spins but say bad disc when putting a new one in. Bought a cleaning disc but didn’t work. Pretty sure the laser went out. Just want to replace the laser but not sure I can.

Do you load the disc directly into the DVD player or do you load it into the CD player? What year is your Armada?

by

Directly into it. 2012

According to this blog site, you either need to take to your local dealer or remove the DVD player and send it into a service repair shop. It seems depending on your environment and the cleanliness of the DVDs being used, the laser needs to be replaced. If you are not comfortable with doing the work yourself, I recommend having your vehicle serviced.

I have checked around and no one works on them. I also will do the work myself but can’t find the replacement part

You will need to find the manufacture and the model of the DVD player unit. If you have those, we could try looking for the part.

Hi what if the DVD is playing with sound but no picture?

There are other options for getting parts. You can call around to junkyards to get a new (to you) DVD player and fix it yourself without the expense of going to a dealer. That's what I did. Check it out: https://youtu.be/RAoPpgt8yqg
