When using USB port my iQon laptop freezes

As soon as i plug something into the USB Port the laptop freezes

Werner what OS are you using? Did you recently have an upgrade or a new device installed?

Thanks for that.

I have done that allready still the same the mouse work on the USB

but the stick and external hdrive it stalls

i am sure its the mobo there is a power losswhen using the memory stick or ext hdrive

Options

OS is Windows XP

and no upgrades

I find that when i use A memory stick there is a low noise like grrrr

then it will freeze like a power loss

Have you tried to go to control panel> system>device manager>hardware and checked to see if the USB port shows up? Try to uninstall it and restart your computer and see if it reinstalls it. Does it happen with Anything you plug into the USB or just a memory stick? Have you tried to use a different one?
