Why is high fan staying on with a/c on?

I added a little freon since the air didn't feel as cold as it was the gage on the can was in between 30-40 and then the high fan came on so I figured out it only comes on when I turn the ac on now but it didn't do this before I added the freon I'm not sure what happend it's a 5.4l fx4 2010

@bpat281 The fan can come on when you have too much high pressure in the A/C system.  So it is possibly a slight over charge. It is possible to bleed a small amount of pressure on the low side valve. release a small amount of pressure and see if it will help. At this time it sounds like the fan is doing what it is supposed to do depending on the head pressure. There are a few things you can do. Have your Ford scanned and see if the AC throws any codes. Have an AC shop check the pressures. Remember that you added refrigerant because of not feeling as cold? Refrigerant may not have been the issue but this maybe compressor etc. related. or just continue to drive since the fan is doing its job. Also make sure sure that you top off your coolant level.
