Hi @dccyt

Can your PC still start windows?

If able to boot, try updating the BIOS to latest.

Try unplugging the hard disk, cd rom does it works?

lastly if not possible, try clearing CMOS by removing the internal cr2032 battery for about 5 mins and put it back in.

@salmonjapan The PC Does not boot windows, but I can get it to boot a windows install USB. In that, it says that no HDD was detected. I know the port works because I plugged the cd rom into the sata port the hdd was in. The CMOS battery worked, so thanks!

Hi @dccyt great to hear that you can access the computer.

Most probably if your hard disk is not detected, just change it.

I think SSD price is quite reasonable, so you can consider it for the replacement and also once the system is stable and running well, update the BIOS revision to the latest too.

Cheers

(By the way, it is solved.)

It would hang on that screen, for however long I left it on.

I had to take out the cmos and put it back in the pc.

I agee with Augustine. Looks like your HDD is dead.

It is not dead surprisingly! It has 6000+ power on hours but is not dead. By the way I managed to get it working.
