iPhone SE Screen Black Recognized in iTunes Dry

My iPhone SE screen went black. The phone is on and is recognized in iTunes - receives calls and texts (can’t answer because can’t see). The screen is actually a very dark grey, when it is woke from sleep you can tell it’s on. It was never wet. I believe the screen was replaced once before…

What could this be??

Shine a bright light to the screen to check if you can see a dimmed image of your desktop or boot screen. If that’s the case it might be a backlight issue, often caused by screen replacement one way or the other. However, since you don’t know previous history it might be simply the screen gone bad..a replacement would be the first thing to try. No way to tell for sure without some try and error.

In the dark, you can see the phone wake up when you press home button or power button. You can not see anything, flashlight or not - no logo, icons… nuthin’. I’ve done ALL reset options. It appears in iTunes.

I was going to start by replacing the screen.

@sweetspud A lack of image is usually mostly due to a screen failure, the replacement will probably be all that's needed.
