Hi @suraj019 ,

When you say “Why wont my laptop boot up?” do you mean that it does stay on but there is just no display?

Try connecting an external monitor to the HDMI port and check if there is a display or not. Remember to press F10 to connect to the external display

(Even a TV can be an external monitor as long as it has HDMI inputs and you have an appropriate cable to connect between the two devices)

If there is no display on the external monitor either, then you have a motherboard problem

If there is a display on the external monitor, try shining a torch at an angle close to the laptop screen to check if there is an image there or not.

If there is an image then you have a backlight problem. This could be caused either by a faulty backlight power supply on the motherboard, a fault LVDS cable (or cable connection) between the motherboard and the screen or a faulty screen.

If there is no image detected then there is either a faulty LVDS cable (or cable connection) or a faulty screen.

Here’s a link to the service manual for the laptop. Scroll to p.55 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the display assembly. This will allow you to check the LVDS cable connections and get to the panel if that is the problem.
