I cannot adjust the volume on my mini jambox when connected to my T V

The volume buttons on my jawbone by mini jambox do not work, volume just stays at a constant level when I try to adjust higher or lower when connected to the television yet when it is set to my iphone I can adjust the volume with my phone buttons
