Jeep tranny just stoped working out of blue

“HELP!! I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 liter with a 45rfe trans. The other day i was driving amd with no sighns the trans lost all gears it wont grab any of them. It will shift you can hear the noice that jeeps make when the shift takes place. At obout 4000 rpms you can feel the trany trying to get grip on gears and only inches forward. The fluid is only 3 months old still red and a littl above normal on dip stick. What could cause this issue. Thanks for any insite.'”

Same thing happened to me. It was the transmission filter… or more precisely, the little O-ring seal where the flat filter goes into the tranny case. It was sucking air. I damage the new one and re-used the old one. Tap the new one in with a socket, making sure it goes in straight and unblemished. Youtube videos.

And since you said you replaced the transmission fluid…. I suspect the same issue.

Easy fix (thankfully).

I never reved it as high as you, but essentially you have no pressure
