How do I reset to factory settings

Hello,

I was given this computer to restore it to wipe everything however, I realized that going to recovery I can only restore it to a system image and not wipe. Since this is a windows 7 laptop, I most likely will need the CD/DVD for this task but is there another way to do what I want to do?

F11 will give the “factory reset”.

After that why not upgrade to Windows 10 which is free for ‘activated’ copies of Windows 7?

Download “Windows10Upgrade9252” from:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software...

or if you have a USB drive use the “Create Windows 10 installation media” option.

As I don’t really know your skill level ASK if you have any questions.

The three ways to perform a clean install of Windows are to use a setup DVD, a USB flash drive, or (in an enterprise environment) boot to a server over the network. You can download the ISO file needed to install a fresh Windows operating system from the Microsoft website.

In Windows 7, the only system recovery options involve restoring from a system image, unfortunately.
