After Screen Replacement, front facing camera not working

Just replaced an iPhone 8 screen using a not so great aftermarket part. Had to swap over the front camera/speaker/prox/ALS assembly onto the new screen.

Everything works - except the front facing camera. The proximity sensor, speaker both work. Front camera only shows black.

Is the flex connector likely the culprit?

My intent is to reseat the flex connector for these components. I don’t expect this to solve the problem.

If the problem isn’t solved by reseating the connector, I’ll purchase a new flex.

Wondering if there are any other issues I might have missed.

Options

You should be aware that you could damage the flex/connector/MoBo connector or everything at once.

Check if the flex is connected properly - unplug it and plug again, then check if it is not damaged (connector and port), then go for the replacement
