Screen bulging, what needs to be done?

My Pixel XL has developed a bit of a beer belly. The screen is bulging out 1-2mm in the mid-section of the phone. The top and bottom are still firmly affixed.

Can the screen just be pressed back down in place or does it need to come off and be replaced?

Also, is the bulging a sign of a damaged battery?

Probably a swollen battery is pushing the screen away from the casing. Usually happens when a mobile is left plugged in for long periods of time. You may or may not need a new screen, but you certainly need a new battery.

Here is a guide on how to change the battery.
