no power to my fuel pump

Have no power to my fuel pump my 2000 Pontiac Grand am but it does have power to hook the fuel pump up to just a battery

angiewheeler705  check in the fuse box under the hood. There is a fuel pump relay. Use a test light to see if you have power to that. #18 in the picture

We would need to know the engine size of your Grand Am so we can check the wiring diagram as well. Let us know what you find.

When you take the relay out, you should have power on 2 of the contacts in the fuse box, one is the control side where the computer tells it what to do and the other is the load side which actually jumps power to the pump, you can also hot wire the load side to see if the pump works but BE SURE of the pins. Is there an identical relay to swap, this will test the relay switch inside, if it works like normal, buy new relay. ONCE you have wire diagram, more help to be given.
