Vintage component Identification help needed.

Hi all, I attached a picture of a component that I am having trouble identifying. The text reads 38132 OR 38|32 RCA CNK IC, also I am on the hunt for Sherwood S-8500 schematics!

looking at the other side how many connections does it have, two or three?

by

it has three pins

So you have a transistor which could be a geranium or silicon configured as either a NPN or PNP.

by

Right, I am hoping to find specs as I need to find a replacement.

Here's one possible source for the Schematics SHERWOOD SCHEMATIC: MODEL S-8500 FM STEREO RECEIVER

Thats the best I can do. Sorry

Chosen Solution

That is reference designator Q308 which is a RCA NPN transistor. For your S-8500 transistor Q208 and Q308 are identical. The original transistor was either a RCA 38132 or a Fairchild 40361F

YeSss!! thank you so much OldTurkey! If you are in located in the states and their is a concert you want to attend (within reason) let me know and I'll try to hook you up with a pair of tickets. I am a promoter/talent buyer for a performing arts center in MA and can sometimes get tickets for shows in the US. I owe you one!
