I have a 2012 model for parts. Will anything work in my mid 2009?

I have a 2012 model macbook pro that is dead.

It has a 256 GB jet drive and I was wondering if it was possible to use that on my mid 2009.

Is the RAM transferable?

Anything that I can/ should move over to my old Macbook Pro?

Sorry, very different architectures nothing is transferable. The 2012 retina system you have for parts uses a blade SSD which won’t work in your SATA based 2009 MacBook Pro, The retina systems RAM is soldered to the logic board so it can’t be salvaged either.

In steady of trying to steal parts from this system how about seeing if you can fix it.

What is the status of the system? The more details the better, maybe a few pics if that helps explain things.

The 2012 model was left in the rain outside. I'm not sure what was wrong with it but I know it wasn't functional. I do not even have the power cord necessary to power it up.

Can the jet drive be converted to SATA and installed?

Sorry square peg round hole, not possible.

The SSD is a custom design its not an mSATA drive as well.

ah I see. So even if I bought the adapter I wouldn't even be able to use it as an external drive?

Review this: Transcend JetDrive not even close!

That enclosure should be fine though, correct?
