Touchpad and keyboard stopped workoy

Hi i accidentally spilled milk over my mb pro A1502 2013. I've cleaned up all the gunk including under the trackpad but to no avail. I read somewhere that people got the working by replacing the trackpad cable but that only seemed true with the 2015 force touch model. Do i need to replace the keyboard and trackpad or could there be an alternative way to fix this?

Options

Due to liquid damage, it would be ideal if you ran the board through an ultrasonic cleaner and then replace the trackpad cable.
