PS3 Fan wires explained?

My PS3 fan connector came off the PCB board. So I'm going to wire the fan to my PC's fan controller for power. I'm wondering which wires are which on the PS3 fan. There is a Brown, Black, and Gray wire. First though is Brown is hot, Black is ground and Gray is the speed sensor. Anyone know for sure?

Options

The fan is PWM controlled so that third wire, the grey one, is used to control the fan speed. The voltage for the brown wire should always be at 12v and Black is the ground. Check these sites here and here for a great discussion about speed control etc on the fans. Good Luck

Hi,

i'm about fixing my ps3 fat after YLOD with ifixit kit and I also want to cool it down.

What will be the result if I add an extra 12mm Fan on the same wire from the original fan? Will it be efficient?

i just tried attaching a fan on the same wires it spun at full speed sounding like a Vacuum cleaner... you've probably already figured that out though... this is for anyone else who may come across this....
