Can I use an iPhone 6 Home button on an iPhone 6s?

I have a customer that broke there screen and the home button cable ripped and I don’t have any iPhone 6S home button fin stock. Can I use an iPhone 6 home button on a 6S?

No, they are not cross-compatible.

When in doubt, take a look at the product listings here on iFixit…they will state if a part can be used on more than one device.

You might be able to, you might just have to test the fit before you actually insert it into the device. Also check the ribbon cables to make sure that they will fit and reach.

Note that the Touch ID functionality will be lost.

Please remember that these are electronics components and as such, there are sometimes surprisingly high voltages powering these parts. If you "just test" something without understanding what you are doing, you can cause some serious damage to the logic board because you are shorting pins that would not be normally shorted because Apple tends to change the layout of the connectors from one device to another.

Please refrain from suggesting someone try something to see if it works if you don't know what's in play and you haven't researched it or tried it yourself.
