Replacing trackpad cable, any need to disconnect battery/logic board?

Based on answers here, I need to replace my trackpad cable. In the trackpad replacement iFixit guide, first steps are to remove battery cable and logic board cable. Since trackpad cable should run over the battery, and that is all I am replacing, do I need to remove the logic board and battery cables for any safety reasons, or can I just remove logic board cable cover and remove the trackpad cable? Thank you for your help.

Always disconnect the battery when working on electronics. If you drop something metal on the board then it's shorted somewhere, if a connector doesn't go in right it's shorted, if you tap something anywhere that's an exposed contact you risk shorting it. No matter how small you should always disconnect the battery and unplug the device you are working on to reduce the risk of damage.
