Here are my thoughts. Even if the device has never been worked on and there is no damage to the phone, the screen can still fail. It’s an electrical component just like the rest of the phone. If you have the ability, I would suggest trying at the very least, a new battery. I would also try a new screen if you can. While most iPhones will still vibrate, this setting can sometimes be turned off. Unfortunately, the way to get the device to work correctly will likely include having to open it. If it’s a software issue causing the problem, you will have to figure out a way to restore it with the version of iOS you want. It is an older phone and we often see issues where Apple devices act goofy with either bad batteries (the battery probably needs to be replaced anyway) or with bad screens.

Try to shine a bright light source to the screen during boot or after a brief pressure to home button or power button to check if you have a very faint image on screen. It might be a logic board issue caused by a screen replacement with battery still connected, it’s a relatively common problem with inexperienced DIYers. It that’s the case the iPhone could be repaired but would require microsoldering experience and tools.

Hello Michel

Does iTunes recognize the device? If so, the device turns on correctly, but it has a bad screen. If the computer recognizes it, it is usually because the device is started.

I would recommend a restoration in DFU if you do not want to change the screen.

this device is not started yet, because no screen and no vibrate mute, etc... itunes asks for a code to unlock the device because it password locked, i have the code but nowhere not able to input it.

but i absolutely not want or will to upgrade it to latest ios. have bought it specially for the ios 10 on it so dfu restore is no any option for me. how to exit this weird usb mass storage mode? iphone never has been opened and there are no scratches or bursts on the device so display is 100% sure fine working. and the mass drive mode says my 0 bytes of 14,9gb free.

Buy new? If it is new, it has a guarantee.

If it's second hand, are you sure the phone worked when I bought it?

If you use windows, install U3tool and I see what the program tells you. You have the option to remove it from the restore mode, if it is in that mode.

Forced restart does nothing?
