ANSWER UPDATED:

I don’t think there is anything published on the flex pinout. However, the iPhone 7 has one Anode output (PP_LCM_BL_ANODE_CONN) and two Cathode return lines (PP_LCM_BL_CAT1_CONN & PP_LCM_BL_CAT2_CONN) designed into the backlight circuit.

There isn’t any direct continuity between those lines and the accessible “pins” because they are probably being treated inside the IC that is on the flex. However, with the screen on, you can probe them for voltage. I measured ~16V.

by any chance do you know the difference beteen cathode1 and cathode 2?

Or do they use the same ammount of power?

There are two separate arrays of LED, one goes back through CAT1 and the other CAT2. The are both powered by ANODE.

no using of the ground here the half of the led's that lightining the lcd is using the anode and one cath and the other half using the same anode with the cath2

Alright, FWIW, I probed an iPhone 7 screen I had on hand. There are 4 "pins" and on the screen I have, three are identified. The "+" pin is the Anode line and the two "-" pins are the cathode. I always assumed the fourth was ground but it reads as open circuit when measured against ground. I don't know what it connects to, or even if it connects anything. Maybe someone who has experimented with this in more depth can chime in.

And you measured those 16 v with display at max brightness or lowest?
